For 100 years Muzel Bryant has quietly lived on Ocracoke Island - the last residing member of the island's only African American family since the Civil War.

Even after a century of change, she is known for her steadfast persistence and unfailing friendliness. Island residents and Bryant family members celebrate her life in classic island style.
