One State, Many Voices – The Old North State is home to diverse language traditions from the Outer Banks to the Southern Highlands. Cherokee and Lumbee Indians, African Americans, and first language Spanish-speakers all have a home in this linguistically rich state.
“Voices of NC” features a series of short educational vignettes, each focusing on a different language community in North Carolina. Southerners from all walks of life lend their voices to this tour of American language and identity.
